The movie "3 IDIOTS" is a story of
the three engineering students in Imperial College of Engineering who finds
their friendship as making themselves like idiots but learning from it. The
main casts were Farhan Qureshi acted by R. Madhavan, Raju Rastogi acted by
Sharman Joshi and Ranchoddas Shamaldas “Rancho” Chanchad acted by Aamir Khan.
Farhan was forced to study
engineering because since he was born his father wanted him to be an engineer.
That is why he pursues engineering as what his father’s wishes for him though
what he wanted to become is a wildlife photographer. He loves to take pictures
of wildlife and this is where enjoy his life but because of being obedient and being
afraid to his father, he granted his father’s wanted to him. Being a child to
his parents, Farhan really tries to learn what must be the learning to be an
engineer. He is silent once his professor is around. The first day as he arrives
at the Imperial College of Engineering, he found her name as well as his room
number. He reads the names of his companion in his room, who are Raju and
Rancho. He is confused with Raju because Raju keeps praying. Farhan is really a
nice friend to Raju and Rancho because his personality, the attitude is fit
with their relationships and the bonds that they have. The friendship he had
with them is really fun; they enjoy so much their companies.
Raju is the person who really
works hard for his family. They are in financially damaged, his father is in
sick and his mother has only a little salary that could only cater for their
daily needs. Also, he had his sister; at early age he supposedly gets married
but unfortunately not yet because his partner wants to get money from his
sister. Raju went to Imperial College of Engineering in order to raise his
family in poverty. The sympathy that he had with his family is unconditional
because he really loves his family especially his parents. Being a child with
his parents, he is loving and concern when it talks about to his family. He is
also a nice friend of Rancho and Farhan, the friendship that he had with them
cannot be fade. One attitude that I admire with him is being so loyal, truthful
and gives so much value with the friendship he had with Rancho and Farhan. Raju
as being a friend, though he is negative sometimes and did not believe Rancho
at first, still he had the trust and the learning with Rancho.
Rancho is the person who really
wants to learn in a simple way. I remember, he told the professor why make
things difficult if you could explain it simple. Rancho is an intelligent man;
he loves to learn many things around him. He likes to explore and try to invent
something that comes out with his mind. He always think especially when dealing
with new creations he was about to think, he always reach his hands to those he
thinks that person needs help. As a friend with Farhan and Raju, cannot compare
to anyone because he is a person that always think first his friends than
himself. He really cares his friends and really enjoys the company with them.
What I never forget in him in the movie is his great mind, the way he bring
himself to others, the way he deal with others and thinking new ideas to create
new technology. His thinking capacity really helps him to think new ideas, he
easily thinks and he is confident of what he wanted to create. Rancho never
give up in things, except love, I think so. He is not ashamed in talking people
instead he shares what he is thinking, his ideas and what he believes. Rancho
has principles in life, he believes on what he really thinks is right and also
what he do what he wanted to do.
He is actually unbelievable
because of the quality that he has. I would say he is amazing with his works,
his influences that he brought to the school, professors, and classmates
especially Farhan and Raju.
The story begins when Farhan
narrates the whole story about their friendship and the relationship they had
during the days they were together. In the first day of school, Farhan looked
up where the room he is to join. Fortunately, he will join a room together with
Raju and Ranchu. Ranchu went to the school without knowing what really happens
in the area at the bathroom. The professor approach him but Rancho was a little
afraid so he ran in the room and when the professor was counting on him, he
creates an idea with the spoon that connected to electricity. In this idea,
Rancho is very resourceful, he uses what he sees that would help him fix or
create the idea that comes out in his mind. The students were laughing what the
professor’s react during the pissed at the door where Rancho got inside. Of
course, Raju and Farhan were amazed on the idea that he was made. At school,
the dean of the college, Professor Viru “Virus” Sahastrabudhhe acted by Boman
Irani was very strict, his professionalism towards his students is through his
Excellency that he could be proud of. Students were afraid of him because of
his standards and his approached to students. He is actually proud and
overwhelmed with himself but when Rancho came in school, he actually found the
challenge with him. As Professor Virus had his remarks to the new students,
Rancho is not ashamed to ask about the pen that is valuable to the professor.
The professor did not answer but he thinks that Rancho insulted him. I always
find Rancho to be curios yet he knows what his curios are for.
The days has passed, little by
little the friendship that they built are getting stronger. Rancho always
thinks of fun with his friends. Though sometimes they make stupid things, they
actually having fun comprises with learning. One day Rancho suddenly heard the
talked between the student who was Joy Lobo and hopefully to graduate and
Professor Virus, he is begging with the professor to check his project and
passed him so that he could graduate. Suddenly the professor did not give him a
chance rather talked to Lobo’s father that he could not graduate. He tries to
beg the professor but the professor was very hard to convince. He loses hope so
he throws his inventions to the garbage and get lost. Rancho get his invention,
he observe and test it. Rancho actually amazed with his work though it could
not fly. Rancho gives time with it to upgrade and fix the helicopter together
with his friends Farhan and Raju. He fix the helicopter where is could fly by
with a controller for the directions of the helicopter. Unfortunately, after
Rancho finishes the helicopter, Lobo commits suicide because of the
discouragement of his professor. Then, Rancho insulted again his Professor
Virus because he believes that Lobo does not commit suicide but what happened
to him is a murder. Rancho says that it was a murder because the professor did
not considerate the feelings of the student. In this, Rancho is very kind and a
helpful one.
In the main three characters
somehow reflects to me. I was related with Farhan of being afraid to my
parents. Though my parents did not force me to what course I will take, I am
afraid with them because sometimes they are strict, always has limitations
especially in late hours. Though I am stubborn sometimes, I obey my parents
what they will command or request to me. If it is prohibited, I must not
violate it instead follow what they wanted for the good to me. I am very much
thankful that I have my parents who are very considerate and understandable
especially when I have to attend an event in school and I went home late.
Farhan is a very good friend of Raju and Rancho because he keeps their
friendship with fun and really attached on what relationship they had. Farhan
is not that weak though he cannot tell to his parents what he wants but still
he promises to take the course what his father wants him to take. He is a kind
son because he obeys his parents and also, he really takes good care the
friendship he had with Rancho and Raju. I was able to reflect with Farhan
because whatever my parents told me, I must follow it. I also take good care of
friends because I am afraid to lose them. Though sometimes I have the attitude
of being over acting, my friends really understands me.
The attitude of being weak is
what I was reflected with Raju. He is very weak regarding with his thoughts, of
being negative. I am also a negative thinker and that is my weaknesses. In this
weakness I was able to hurt myself sometimes, I discriminate myself and
sometimes I feel that I am nothing in this world. Raju was able to conquer his
fears because he was influences by Rancho. I do not know if Rancho was not at
Raju’s side maybe Raju will die because of the depression. Rancho is a very big
influence to Raju because though Rancho is stupid sometimes, an idiot, he is a
good friend of him. Rancho always finds a way to help his friend Raju to
motivate and to be strong in every obstacle he had in his life. Raju is
pressure with his life because of his family. He always thinks the situation of
their family especially his father, who suffers so much pain. He really loves
his family, which is why he goes to college, to finish studies and get a bigger
salary that his mother is earning. Among the three, Raju was the poorest among
them, he is not financially stable. No one does not loves their family, like
Raju, I really loves my family; I always keep my promises for them, to raise
them from poverty and to travel with them around the world. What I wanted for
my family is to make them happy. Like Raju, we just want to free our family
from poor quality that we had. Still I am happy though my family is striving
crisis, because I believe that what important is, you are together with your
family and you are having fun.
Rancho is different among the two
because since birth Rancho loves in learning new things. He is a lucky person
because though he did not the real Ranchoddas Shamaldas ChanChad, he was given
a chance to go to school and learn many things that he wanted to learn. The
father of the real Rancho was settled a contract. This contract was to use the
name of Ranchoddas Shamaldas ChanChad because Rancho was really a brilliant
child; he is studios rather than the real Rancho. Though is not good for both
of them, still they took advantage each of them. Rancho is unique among the
students of Imperial College of Engineering because he is the only one who
would opposed to a professor, he says what he thinks, he never afraid what
people may think of him as long as he believe with himself that he is right.
Rancho to his friends, he is really a good friend because he always look for
what is best to his friends. He really values the friendship that he had with
Farhan and Raju. In the movie he bet Professor Virus that he is surely believes
that his friends Farhan and Raju could get a job after they will graduate. My
reflection with Rancho is being nice to my friends, though not always but I
looked up what is best for my friends.
“All is Well” always comes out
from the mouth of Rancho. If there is a difficult situation, he always says
this quote. He believes that whatever circumstances may lead, if there is any
obstacle he may encounter, he will just say this and he will be calm. “All is
Well”, I believe that in this quote means everything will be ok. This is for
calming a situation that you feel nervous as what Rancho showcase in the movie.
I never forget in the movie was when the sister of Pia who is Mona will
suddenly give birth to his child. That day, the rain was so heavy that the
school was in flood and during that time Rancho, Farhan and Raju was caught
red-handed with the copy of the questionnaire from Professor Virus. Then, that
was forgotten when Mona is giving birth. They cannot bring Mona to the hospital
because of the flood so Rancho together with his friends and students in the
school help each other. They put Mona on the table tennis but suddenly, it was
blocked out. Pia who was not in the school, uses the webcam to communicate with
them. She is the one who will command Rancho what to do in delivering the baby.
Mona gets weak, so Pia told Rancho to vacuum the baby. She demonstrate how it
works by the video he was to show with them. Rancho thinks easily and has the
idea of making a vacuum. He is very resourceful, as long as there is the
material that must be needed in his creations; he would actually made the
unique one. Rancho together with his friends they made their creations from
generator to vacuum. Rancho tries to vacuum the baby, and it was successful.
The baby comes out but it does not cry. They thought the baby was dead, they
feel sad so the mother of the baby cries. Raju comfort Mona, and tell her their
favorite quote “All is Well”, suddenly the baby kick the face of Rancho. Rancho
was shocked and could not believe that the baby was alive and it responses
because of that quote. All were very happy and embraces everyone. Professor
Virus was also could not believe what happens but he actually salute the
students on what they have done. What I like he said to the baby is, what you
heart wants, follow it. Everyone shocked with the Professor but with that, they
feel happy.
After Mona gave birth, Rancho was
ready to go since he was rejected in school by Professor Virus because of
cheating. Professor Virus stops Rancho and apologizes to him. He told Rancho
that he was amazed with him but he says to him that he will not always be
perfect, he also commit mistakes.
